Village Nation’s Full-Time audition process is an immersive, high-level experience designed to reflect the realities of professional performing arts training. The day involves intensive practical sessions across multiple disciplines, along with personal interviews with our Creative Team.

Auditions are conducted in a professional, supportive environment, allowing each student to demonstrate their technical ability, versatility, work ethic, and potential — while gaining a clear understanding of the standards and expectations of full-time training at Village Nation.

Full-Time Courses at Village Nation

Village Nation offers nationally recognised full-time performing arts qualifications designed for dancers and performers ready to train at a pre-professional level and pursue a future in the entertainment industry.

Courses on offer include:

  • CUA40120 Certificate IV in Dance

  • CUA50120 Diploma of Dance

  • CUA50220 Diploma of Musical Theatre

  • CUA40320 Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management

Our Full-Time program is ideal for students looking to expand their skills across all areas of the performing arts, while developing the discipline, resilience, and mindset required for professional careers.

Industry-Led Training

Throughout the year, students train with Australia’s most respected and in-demand industry professionals, alongside leading emerging choreographers. Our faculty brings real-world experience, current industry insight, and high professional expectations into every class.

Faculty includes Briden Starr, Jacqui Howard, Mitch Woodcock, Marko Panzic, Stephen Tannos, Cameron Mitchell, Nathan M Wright, Simone Sault, Jarryd Byrne, Alex Miedzinski, Matthew Gode, Ashleigh Tavares, Lauren Seymour, Robbie Kmetoni, Lauren Elton, Mitch Wynter, Blake John Wood, Darren Mapes, Talia Fowler, Jacob Yarr, Nicholas Cunningham, Andrew Bevis, Jayde Westaby, Wayne Aspinall, and many more.

Performance Opportunities & Industry Exposure

Beyond elite training, Village Nation students benefit from extensive industry connections, providing frequent performance opportunities at large-scale events and professional platforms. Students graduate with real performance credits and a strong CV, not just classroom experience.

Our aim is to deliver exceptional performance training, while maintaining a strong focus on mental, emotional, and personal wellbeing, ensuring students are fully prepared for the demands of the performing arts industry.

Audition Process

Entry into all Full-Time programs is by audition only.

​

Group Audition Structure:

  • 45 mins – Ballet Technique (all students)

  • 30 mins – Jazz Technique

  • 45 mins – Commercial Jazz Choreography

  • 45 mins – Hip Hop Choreography

  • 45 mins – Contemporary / Lyrical Choreography

Following the group audition, each student will be seen individually:

  • 45 sec – 1 min Vocal Performance (optional but strongly encouraged)

  • 45 sec – 1 min Drama Monologue (optional but strongly encouraged)

Auditions conclude with a personal interview with our faculty.

Parent & Carer Q&A Session

We understand that transitioning into full-time training is a significant step. During audition days, we hold a dedicated Q&A session for parents and carers, allowing families to speak directly with our team and ask questions about the course structure, expectations, and support systems.

Online Auditions (Interstate & International Students)

For students unable to attend live auditions in Sydney, online auditions are accepted.

Online Audition Requirements:

Ballet Technique (include at least two):

  • Tendu

  • Développé

  • Grand Battement

  • Pirouettes

  • Grand Allegro

Solos (45 sec – 1 min each, 2–3 styles):

  • Jazz

  • Contemporary

  • Lyrical

  • Ballet

  • Hip Hop

  • Musical Theatre

  • Tap

Optional Submissions:

  • 45 sec – 1 min vocal performance (with backing track or a cappella)

  • 45 sec – 1 min drama monologue

Personal Introduction:

  • A 30-second video to camera, introducing yourself and telling us a little about who you are.

Submission Deadline:
🕔 5:00pm – March 30th, 2026

Accreditation

All courses are delivered in partnership with Australian Teachers of Dancing, giving students access to ATOD’s accredited qualifications, policies, procedures, student support systems, and facilities.
