FULLTIME
Village Nation's Full Time audition process is a high intensity, advanced day of performing arts and interviews with the Creative Team. During this audition process you will be assessed in a professional environment.
The courses we have on offer at VN are -
CUA40120 Certificate IV in Dance
CUA50120 Diploma of Dance
CUA50220 Diploma of Musical Theatre
CUA40320 Certificate IV in dance teaching and management
Our Full Time course is the perfect training course for those looking to expand their skills in all styles of the performing arts.
Throughout the year you will work with Australia’s most prestigious and experienced industry specialists, as well as the best up and coming choreographers around.
Teachers include Briden Starr, Jacqui Howard, Mitch Woodcock, Marko Panzic, Stephen Tannos, Cameron Mitchell, Nathan M Wright, Simone Sault, Jarryd Byrne, Ashleigh Tavares, Lauren Seymour, Robbie Kmetoni, Lauren Elton, Sophie Holloway, Mitch Wynter, Blake John Wood, Sonja Middelbosch, Leah Howard, Andrew Bevis, Jayde Westaby, Wayne Aspinall, and MANY more
In addition to the best training available, through our widespread industry connections the students get frequent performance opportunities at large scale events so they are finishing their year of training with a full CV.
Our aim is to provide the best performance training and experience, coupled with a strong focus on mental and spiritual wellbeing to ensure each student is adequately prepared for the rigours of the performing arts Industry.
As a result, our audition process is quite broad.
Our group auditions will run as follows:
45min - Ballet Technique with all students
30min - Jazz Technique
45min - Commercial Jazz Choreography
45min - Hip Hop Choreography
45min - Contemporary/Lyrical Choreography
30min - Tap choreography (optional)
After this we will individually see each student perform. Please note, acting & singing are not compulsory however they are strongly encouraged.
45sec - 1min - Vocal Performance
45sec - 1min - Drama Monologue
We will conclude with a personal interview with our staff.
As we understand moving into Full Time study can be a big step for many students, we will be holding a Q&A Session with any parents/carers who have questions about the course. This will run during the audition process so you can speak with our team and ask any questions you may have about the running of the course.
For those of you who are not based in Sydney and are unavailable to make it for our live auditions, we are now accepting Online Auditions.
To audition online, please provide footage of the following:
Ballet - (at least 2 of the below)
Tendu
Develope
Grand Battement
Pirouettes
Grand Allegro
Also please include 45sec-1min solos in 2-3 of the following styles:
Jazz
Contemporary
Lyrical
Ballet
Hip Hop
Musical Theatre
Tap
Also, if you would like to show us, you can submit either of the following:
45sec-1min SONG of your choice (with accompaniment/backing track or a capella)
and a 45 sec - 1min monologue.
Finally, please record yourself speaking to camera about yourself for approx 30 seconds telling us a little about yourself!!
The cut off for our online auditions is 5PM MARCH 24TH, 2024.
Please upload your audition video to YouTube as a "UNLISTED" video. Please make sure it is not private as we will be unable to view your submission. You can submit your youtube video URL directly on our form below.
All Courses are delivered through the ATOD (Australian Teachers of Dancing, RTO 31624), with students benefiting from access to all of ATOD’s policies and procedures, support systems and facilities.
